  1. i am not an Entomologist nor do i claim to be any kind of expert. After hearing the wonders of bay leaves and how they do such a fabulous job of repelling roaches i used a combination of whole leaves and crushed leaves and covered every shelf in my kitchen and every hard to reach spaces in my home (behing the washer and dryer, dishwasher, oven, etc...) and honost to goodness it has done wonders for me. Now i think it would only be fair to mention that in addition to the bay leaves, i lightly covered my carpeted areas with boric acid which was incredibly effective. Also i made a toxic concotion that the roaches appeared to eat up. One part boric acid, one part flour, and one part powdered sugar, added just enough water to make a paste, rolled the paste into tiny balls and again placed these out of sight in hard to reach nooks and crannys. Apparently the roaches are attracted to these toxic morsales by the sugar and the boric acid then quickly kills them off. I spent less than 50$ and have essentially exterminated all the nasty critters that the previous owner endured. Hopes this is helpful and please let me know if this was helpful! Good luck and happy hunting.
