  1. No.

    easiest 2 points ever!

scientists have always been proven wrong as the years go by...

for example:  Earth was flat??  seriously

The sun revolved around the earth?  come on!

We couldn't fly at the speed of sound??  busted!

    and so on

  2. i think the temperature is changing around the world yes

    but not necessarily getting warmer

    some places colder some warmer

  3. I just kind of do. But unlike other environmentalists, i am not freaking out over it because there were many periods that we thought global warming is getting worse yet it's just a slight change that did not harm anyone. Also, I hate that people blamed countries like USA for worsening the earth's condition.

  4. No, there are tons of errors in scientists research. One of which is the measurements of carbon dioxide. Scientists say that 30% of 97% of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere is caused by us which in reality is actually 3% of carbon dioxide if you add the other natural sources like the water, plants, etc.

Another error includes ocean rising to be exaggerated and the claim that average global temperatures are rising drastically. The arctic circle is made up of ice that floats in the arctic ocean. The ice covering the arctic circle is very shallow. Its thickness is less than ten feet in most places. This shallow ice acts much like ice in a glass of water. When ice is placed in a glass of water, the water is displaced and rises to support the weight of the ice. Therefore, the more ice, the higher the water level. The melting of the ice in the arctic circle does not significantly change the level of the water because the ice is floating. The only significant change which could occur is when the ice on land melts and moves into the ocean water. Current studies show that ice in the Antarctic which is on land is actually gaining in mass.

Average global temperatures have not increased dramatically compared to long-term average temperatures. Over the past 700,000 years, scientific graphs show high and low temperature patterns similar to that of a heart monitor machine. About every hundred thousand years, there is a significant warming followed by a drastic cooling. It has been shown through scientific research that the Earth has normal patterns of heating and cooling. Over the last hundred years, the 1930’s and the 1950’s had warmer recorded temperatures than the present decade.

  5. Yes, Because we don't have snow in winter.

  6. Global warming was a natural cycle, but temperatures have been declining for years based on satellite data. A change in the Pacific Decadal Oscillation PDO, will cause temperatures to continue to decline for at least another 25 years. This could be amplified by diminished solar activity, and we will more than likely see a much cooler climate by the 2030.

  7. I know it's real and mostly caused by us.  Don't trust me, the proof is in the links.

This is science and what counts is the data.

"I wasn’t convinced by a person or any interest group—it was the data that got me. I was utterly convinced of this connection between the burning of fossil fuels and climate change. And I was convinced that if we didn’t do something about this, we would be in deep trouble.”

Vice Admiral Richard H. Truly, USN (Ret.)

    Former NASA Administrator, Shuttle Astronaut

Here are two summaries of the mountain of peer reviewed data that convinced Admiral Truly and the vast majority of the scientific community, short and long.

There's a lot less controversy about this is the real world than there is on Yahoo answers:

And vastly less controversy in the scientific community than you might guess from the few skeptics talked about here:

"There's a better scientific consensus on this [climate change] than on any issue I know...  Global warming is almost a no-brainer at this point.  You really can't find intelligent, quantitative arguments to make it go away."

EDIT - Agent0's argument about a flat Earth is a very good one, which shows global warming is real.

2000 years ago Eratosthenes measured the diameter of the Earth.  Once the data was in, only ignorant "skeptics" who ignored the data said the Earth was flat.  The scientists had a consensus that it was round.  The same is true today.  Being "skeptical" about global warming is exactly like believing the Earth is flat.  Hey, doesn't it look like it is?

  8. No, because the earth has been warmer then it is now Example 1:The land that is modern day Greenland used to have agricultural land where crops were grown. This was know as the Medieval warming period. (Pre-SUV being invented)

Example 2: During the Dust Bowl it was drier and likely warmer than it is now days. (Pre-SUV being invented)

All the solutions the likes Algore have sound exactly what the likes of Karl Marx, Leon Trotsky, Josef Stalin, Benito Mussolini envisioned for the world, where that industralized welathy nations are taxed to support the poorer nations, while the wealthy  work thier arses off in hopes of a better life for them and their families the poor sit on their arses doing nothing and wait for the guvmint checks to roll in.

  9. There's nothing to believe in. The temperature of our environment is rising and resulting in various ecological effects. This includes mercurial meteorological activity -melting icecaps, monsoons, hurricanes, drought, and the erosion of coastal communities.

  10. Yes I do.

The earth is heating up. There is more extreme weather (Hurricane Katrina, the tsunami in Indonesia, etc.). Glaciers are melting. Huge mountains don't have as much snow on them as they used to. Scientists have measured the carbon in the air, and there's a lot more then there was 50 years ago.

Watch "The Inconvenient Truth." It has a whole bunch of info in it.

  11. I believe we are in a global warming trend, but I am not convinced it is man made.

  12. I don't. If you look at history we've had many global warming and many ice ages. This is another cycle the earth must go through.

  13. I am not so sure because i heard a lot of shows about this. I think it is happening right now .There is a hole in the ozone which allows dangerous rays to cause skin cancer .

  14. Yes because there is enough supporting evidence to prove it. Man made...I dunno about that one.

  15. um...the thing is..al gore just doesnt seem, credible to me..i mean, going back in history, most actvists have been seen being devoted to their cause......however, al gore is not really that devoted..i  mean....if he was..why wud he have a huge electricity bill?.......especially when he is the one advocating the "going green" campaign....um....HYPOCRITE?....so no.....coz of al gore..im starting not to believe in it.....

  16. no  because it snowed in BAGHDAD!! and its 2'c in KUWAIT! that may not sound to cold for  u but it does for the q8ies where the temp neva goes below 20'c in winter

  17. No because I think it's just a big political scam.

  18. I think that global warming  is a real issue that should be a concern to us all now and is only going to get worse, rapidly.

However, I think that people are getting confused by the expanding population, the planets inability to support us, the wiping out of the fish stock, the extinction of flora and fauna, coral bleaching, expanding desert, arctic ice melting, third world debt, poverty and starvation, illeagal logging, multi drug resistant TB, and all the other issues facing humanity and then pushing them all together and labeling it as "global warming". Some of these issues are a result of global warming and some are the result of over 6.5 BILLION people destroying the environment.

And then they see the problem as to big to start fixing, so, therefore there is no point to do anything about it as no one else is, etc. However all these issues can be broken down and we ,collectively, could go someway to solving them. However, unfortunately, we are human and historically, when ever there has been a time to band together for the good of all, we have choose to bomb, kill, invade, and attack and take what ever we wanted from our neighbors. *Sigh*.

So, yes I feel that global warming is man made but I am rapidly changing my opinion about if we can do anything to stop or slow its progress. If, as they say, the Arctic will be ice free in 5 years then the Europe that we know today will cease to exist in a decade. The Planet will be thrown into chaos with mass migration, panic, and starvation on a scale never before seen. The deniers and skeptics are constanly saying it is a hoax and doesnt exist but what if the opposite was true? 'What if' the future is so bleak and no one wants us to know to prevent the chaos that would surely follow?? I am just saying "what if" but it makes you think...
