  1. Yes.

The main reason I am convinced is that early scientist studying the earth could not understand why the surface didn't just freeze solid. Even very crude models of climate showed there was not enough solar energy  to keep the heat in balance. All the heat should radiate off into space through te atmosphere (which was known to be N2, O2 and Ar (<1% Ar).

Only after the discovery of the "greenhouse effect," caused by trace amounts of CO2 in the atmoshpere, was it possible to get the heat to balance. Now it gets pretty hard to explain where all the heat is going to go if the greenhouse effect is doubled!

  2. Earth has been getting warmer over the past couple hundred years, yes.  Do I believe that man is primarily responsible? no.

    explanation takes way too long.

  3. Yes, but it is a term with little meaning.  Does the earth warm and cool.  Of course.  Has it been warming recently.  It depends on your time scale, but it could be argued to be warming.  Is man responsible fro the recent warming.  Probably not.  Is it dangerous or harmful?  Again, probably not.
