Do bicycle shops have labor day sales?

Im a novice rider looking to get a mountain bike basically to have something to ride with my 3 year old son. Looking to spend $300-400, was wondering if I should wait until labor day weekend to see if they will have a sale or just get one now? Want to get a decent bike since Im getting one but not break the bank ( was looking at Haro, Trek 3700), ?any other suggestions.

Generally all major stores have Labor Day Sales. You could call the bike shop and ask them, If there is a sale, some bikes will not have a discount. If the bike you are looking for is going to be on sale, then you are probably going to be looking at a $50-20 discount.

Some do...the better thing in your favor is that the 2009 models are due out soon and shops will be looking to unload the 2008's
