  1. I have only found ticks to live off of mammals but I could be wrong some birds may have ticks.

  2. im sure they do!

  3. They carry mites.

  4. wild animals can carry a lot of things, lice, ticks, worms. watch out for owls carrying mail.

  5. Most of them do. What we did with our birds is we sprayed a solution over their body and the lice and ticks died and fell off the birds' feather in due time.

  6. Yes, birds can carry ticks, mites, lice, and other parasites.  You can usually tell if a bird is "badly" infected with these creatures by the "looks" of the bird.  If it looks descheveled, ratty, and the feathers are in poor shape, then it's not healthy and could be overrun with these parasites.

  7. They may, and a lot of birds carry lice. Be careful when handling them.

  8. Birds do not carry ticks, at least for very long.  Birds beeks are very hard and they preen themselves constantly.  A tick wouldn't last a second on a bird, it would feel it and grab it with its beek and eat it.  Birds can carry lice, but lice is so small that it goes undetected by the bird.
