  1. I don't think it will hurt the bird. Only if you are feeding plain white bread and too much. Birds don't need a lot of bread that get all that in their seeds. Better off feeding fruits and veggies.


  2. I wouldn't give them mouldy bread, but I eat expired bread all the time.  The expiration date is just the last day a store can sell the bread.  You can eat it until it is too hard or it gets mouldy, and so can birds.

    Bread isn't very good for birds.  They are much better off eating seeds.  Some birds eat nuts, meat, and most love fat.

    I gather snails from my yard to feed ducks; they love them.

    Don't give them rice-it can kill them.  It swells up in their stomach and can kill them.  I've seen people put out rice to kill  pigeons.
