  1. birds have a poor sense of smell.

    except kiwis.

  2. Most birds have a poor sense of smell.  A few that need smell to find food have an excellent sense of smell. These include Kiwis, and vultures.

  3. Yes, they have a very good sense of smell.  They can smell a long way.

  4. No, they have no sense of smell

  5. Most do not have a good sense of smell. This is why if you find baby birds you should put them back in the nest (nestlings, not fledglings). Unlike mammals, mom will not pick up your scent on them. She won't care at all that you touched them and will come back to the nest (as long as you don't hang around and make her nervous).

  6. They do not have a strong sense of smell. He would not find the food from across the room.

  7. well i do know that they have a great sence of sight but i dont think they can smell that great.but im not a expert.

  8. Most birds have very bad sense of smells, depending on what kind of bird it is.

  9. Yes, birds have a sense of smell.  How good it is depends on the kind of bird.  Most don't have a particularly keen sense of smell - many are probably less sensitive than even humans.  But some of them have extremely sensitive noses.  Kiwis are probably the  bloodhounds of the avian world.
