I was wondering why chickens lay so many eggs while there was only two roosters in a farm. Then I started wondering if other birds were the same.

  1. All birds will lay eggs without mating -parrots, and fowl!  My hens didn't have a rooster until a few months ago, and they layed eggs.

But they have to mate in order to produce fertile eggs that will later hatch.

I hope this answers your question!

  2. actually hens can lay eggs without roosters but they wont have any babies inside, they actually mate, and the egg is fertilized inside the hen  and then she lays them (she then sets on them till they hatch),I don't know how frequently they can breed though.

  3. " Although all birds have internal fertilization, most do not have a p***s; a p***s is only present in waterfowl and the large flightless birds. Copulation may continue regularly and only stop when egg laying is over or may continue through incubation."

So Birds have s*x. fertilization happens inside the female.

You can check the source link for specifics.

  4. they do mate

  5. Girl chickens lay eggs with out a mate but doesn't hatch to be chicks.
