  1. What a stupid question

  2. most likely not as much as white and black or mexican and white.

that wasn't a really good question.

  3. Herman, you have to think a little bit first. There are over 8 million people in the Los Angeles city limits alone; 12 - 20 million in the "Greater Los Angeles Area", depending on where you draw the lines.

Hispanics and Blacks haven't mixed as much in Los Angeles as they have in, for instance, Cuba, but I can guarantee you there is at least one person in Los Angeles who is half Black and half Hispanic, another one (at least) who us pure Hispanic and a third (at least) who is pure Black.

  4. Not sure why you would be asking that but in general, I would say no. Historically, people of Mexican heritage & Blacks haven't generally mixed as much as whites/blacks, whites/Mexican, etc. I'm sure that it has occured, but it wouldn't be a prevalant thing.

  5. no why would you think that?

  6. That would depend upon the individual ancestry of each black person, although the more social, business, and educational contact any two ethnic groups of people have with each other, the more likely they are to see each other as desirable mates.

Most African Americans or their parents or grandparents (like most of the rest of the population of Los Angeles) migrated to Los Angeles beginning during the early part of the twentieth century.  Many African-Americans, like their Anglo-American counterparts came from the states of Texas and Oklahoma during the days of the Dust Bowl and Great Depression.  Still others came to work in California defense industries during World War II.  Indeed, in  my neck of the woods [Texas], Tom Bradley (1917-1998), the first African-American mayor of Los Angeles, is probably the most famous native son the Central Texas town of Calvert has ever produced.

    P. S.  As an English composition teacher, I have to ask why you didn't capitalize the proper nouns in this sentence--Mexican and Los Angeles, California.  The words black and white aren't capitalized, but nationalities, such as Mexican, Kenyan, or Italian are.
