Im asking beause, for a while now, I have just noticed that in so much msic videos (hip hop/r n b) that black artists, men, seem to have like 95% atleast just of white women, or lighter skinned women.

Im a Reggae lover, so thats why I have not noticed it really, as one, not many videos out really, and because I dont really watch music videos to be honest.

I dont usually look at race in all honesty, but we have been watching music channels all day today in the background, and it just seems to be like that.

How do black women feel about that? Or do you not care?

Just curious!!!!!!

  1. i've noticed more black women in hip hop vids than white women..hmm

  2. I don't care what race they are.

  3. LoL @ people fronting at this question. I don't see a lot of Black women in music videos nor White women. It's usually women who are multiracial and Latina.

Kanye refers to some of them as "mutts".

    ---

Maybe things have changed? b/c I hardly watch music videos today.

  4. I don't know why anyone would care who is cast in a music video.  I also don't know a lot of adults who watch music videos regularly.

  5. Only a bleeding heart liberal would want a black woman in their video.

  6. I don't know what music videos you're referring to but most black artist/hip hop artists have mostly black women in them. The only other women I've ever seen are latinas which you must be confusing for white women and there are only a few of them that I see because most of them are black.

  7. Everyone else is fronting and/or lying.

    Me. I don't mind it.

I'd rather see them fighting for the Fashion Runway when it comes to the modeling industry.

  8. theres more black chicks in rap videos more white chicks in rock videos

  9. That's news to me...

  10. Why would there be a lot of white women in hip hop videos?

They can't find that many that can dance or even keep up with a rhythm!

  11. - Most of the women are hispanic, light skin, or mixed race

I don't really care; i rarely look at music videos anymore and most of the music like that is a few steps from being whack or it already is

  12. Most hip-hop and r&b videos feature black women (Have you heard of Meylissa Ford or Angel Lola Love) and the good thing is that these women actually LOOK black. Sometimes they put hispanic women in them but they have to be shaped like black women.

  13. I know you said you don't look at race and that is truly a blessing to be a person of integrity. Unfortunately, if the above is true then the producers are the opposite and do look at race or skin color when choosing a standard of beauty. I have noticed a few Hip Hop ads with white models as well as videos. A lot of women look at those same videos, especially young girls as role models and men look at them as an example of what women are most beautiful. I although am not, it hurts the dark skin women in this country to see this self hate. Not to long ago African American women could not enter into beauty pageants thus (then came later) African American Beauty pageants and beauty magazines. It is still difficult for black women to get roles in hollywood and model for magazines. So I can imagine the hurt, pain or anger especially when black men are the casting directors.

    @yecalrae. I agree with you.

@ I also agree with those who said black women were unhappliy protrayed as hoes and protested. However, I will be happy when hip hop becomes more positve and up lift their women intead of being negative and having to pick white girls that will do because the black ones wont.

  14. i don't get mad, because i don't care.

& the hip hop vids i've seen had more blacks than anything though...

    *shrugs*

  15. What music videos are you watching?  The rock videos only have white girls and the hiphop ones only have black girls.

  16. I mostly see only Black girls in videos, but I guess black women would be glad to see white women acting like hoes for a change rather than being annoyed.

  17. the white girls look like s***s don't they?  It's good that no black women are in it.  It's a definite message that's going out now especially because black women were in an uproar when music videos first came out and the women dancing so nasty were all black.  Now that black women protested the producers switched to white girls.  It's not flattering what they do.  Black women are glad that it's no longer them that are being displayed like pieces of meat just begging to be devoured.
