  1. hmmmm...i would say that if they have always been blind, then they probably dream without images, but with sounds and smells and feelings just like if they were awake.

If they had vision at some point however, then I would think that some of their dreaming might include images.  Maybe not all of it though.

  2. My ex husband who is in a wheel chair with MD, dreams that hes walking all the time...but the blind is diff. I guess.

  3. i have been blind for nearly six years and through residual memory, i usually dream in images. For me, it is a beautiful experience, because at least in that realm i have my "sight" back. i do dream sometimes in only auditory senses though, a phenomenon that is happening more often as the years go by since i lost my eyesight. Those people i know in a support group who have been blind all their lives dream this way exclusively

  4. If they were blind there whole life they could not see in dreams because they don't know what seeing really is. But if they became blind later in life they would be able to see.

  5. if they had sight before going blind they dream just like you and me.

if they were blind at birth they probably dream just like you and me, only they may see images based upon how they have been perceived and learned to that point and largely on their own perception of what a tiger, (say for example) might look like.

  6. that is a really good question. i never thought about that. but if they were blind sense birth then they have no image in there minds so no they dont dream seeing things.

  7. they go to the doctor they need a medical miracle

  8. If blind over their total life it would not be possible for their brain to be able to produce dreams of pictures and it is maybe for the best I would not like to see those who are totally blind teased by their dreams ~~

  9. wow i never thought of this before

  10. A blind-since-birth person will not dream with sight, but that doesn't make a difference, because they have dreams very similar to ours. For example, one blind man described a dream in which he was outside with his daughter. A man walked up who spoke and sounded about in his 30's, tall and gruff. He goes on to describe hearing police cars going by, and realizing the police are after this man when the man hides behind a bush. The blind man takes his daughter inside, then realizes the friend that was with them is not there, and has to contemplate whether to go out and find his friend and risk getting hurt by the criminal, or to stay inside with his daughter to protect her. No vision, no sights, but they make sense all the same. Their dreams are just like their life.

A later-in-life-blind person will dream with vision, more like memories of what they used to see. They will also be able to remember what colours look like. If they were asked 'What colour is a tree" they could remember trees are brown with green leaves usually, and so their dreams reflect their memories.
