Why don't bloggers remove the phrase "after the jump" when there's clearly no hyperlink, no massive chunk of advertising, and they've already updated their blog?
More and more I'm seeing articles online using the term "after the jump" referring to God knows what. Sometimes they read, "check out the live video feed of bigfoot after the jump." There is no in-line ad and the bigfoot video is right there on the screen beside the text.
Here's an excellent example: http://www.bestweekever.tv/2008/08/19/just-asking-is-michael-phelps-a-douche/
(below the second picture)
What is that even supposed to mean?? Were they just to lazy to edit out that line after they updated the blog? Why couldn't they just say "More evidence later today."
Are bloggers and writers just using these statements and they have no real idea what they mean?
