Depends on the TVs native resolution. If it is at least 720p then yes, Blu-ray will look better then standard DVDs. More information on the TV model would be helpful too.

The pixels on a 1080i set are actually smaller than those of  720 set, and yes it will look very very good.  It would take somebody with eagle eye perfect vision and sitting three feet or closer from the TV to even notice a difference between 1080i and 1080p.  Don't worry about it, it will look fantastic.
