  1. They don't have fins and gills, but yes, they can swim, and yes, they do swim from time to time. There was a pic in a local newspaper a while back that some guy got... he was heading out in his boat to do some fishing and swimming to the shore from one of the spoil islands out in the Indian River was a bobcat... why it was out as far as it was, I don't know, but I doubt someone dropped it out there.

Not the same pic, but another example: http://www.familyfishingtrips.com/images...

  2. the bobcat is the wildcat of America. it is very strong for its size and will even kill farm livestock. after stalking its prey it will jump on to its back, biting and clawing at the base of the skull and neck until the animal drops. i don't think bobcats were meant to swim, but i do know they are very good tree climbers.

  3. The only cat I know of that has fins and gills is the catfish.

  4. All land animals can swim if they "have to", even Elephants.  Your part of the question about fins and gills makes your question sound ridiculous, so I hope it was serious.

The person who told you they can kill farm livestock is WRONG.  They are not big or strong enough to do that, except maybe for chickens.

  5. wow...
