Do both parties have to attend a divorce hearing in Victoria for it to be valid?

It's been 2 years and the papers have not yet come, is this normal.?

  1. Do you mean Victoria BC? For God's sake, no. And be careful They give desk divorce orders there and can spring them when you are not looking.


  2. Nope, as far as I know you don't need to both be in attendance.

    However, the person that does show up is more likely to get their own way re: dividing up the assets etc.
