Yeah they really hurt. I had them for almost four years, but it's worth it. It might help to take something before you go. But afterwards is when it really hurts. It hurts to eat or brush your teeth. But one good thing is that it only hurts for a short time. Then after you get them tightened each month it'll hurt for a couple days, but that's about it.

No they dont, and if they will the pain wil be so small.

So dont worry it doesnt hurt.

well, 2 of my brothers and my friend has told me that it hurts when you eat for like the 1st day. but after a while, it gets better. i guess its because the braces are putting pressure on your teeth to get them straightened or something. maybe you should try Oragel (numbing thing for your mouth specifically). IM getting braces soon too...

YES! It dosents hurt at first but after a few hours OWWWW!

Eat soft foods and after a week it wont hurt.

Man, people are whiners. It didn't hurt like getting your arm broke or anything crazy. Its just really sore at first. I had spacers in place for a week before my braces were attached and they hurt a bit but its nothing that some Tylenol or Mortin can't handle. You can probably wait to take the Tylenol until you get home because it doen't really get sore until later in the day and the following week. Thats all.

yes they hurt beyond belief the first day just chug a bottle of tylenol well dont chug take the maximum daily dose and youll be fine

they hurt when you first get them on but after a few days u get used to them and they dont hurt anymore, except when they retightening them monthly, and that is only slightly painful for a few hrs.

it depends on how touchy you are. If your tolerance to pain is low, it will hurt but later you will get used to it.

Yeah. Keep your Tylenol handy. Drink ice water to sort of numb it out... DON'T bite down... it feels like an electric shock.

oh my freaking god they hurt like h**l but not for the first year or so.once u get bands and elastics :( you might wanna get on advil or something cuss they hurt like h**l!!!
