  1. No it is nonsense.

I don't know who wrote that book or who published it, but they have been extremely irresponsible.

There are a number of urban myths concerning breast cancer and bras - .you can't get breast cancer by wearing a badly-fitting or tight bra, or an underwired bra; nor can you get breast cancer from sleeping in a bra, not sleeping in a bra, not wearing a bra or wearing a bra for too long - all questions I have seen on this board.

Breast cancer, like all other cancers, happens when normal cells change so that they grow in an uncontrolled way. This uncontrolled growth causes a tumour to form. Underwear has no effect on it.

    Bin that book

  2. Nah, cancer is caused by abnormal cells grouping together.  Has nothing to do with anything you wear, only the environment.  UV rays, smoking, drinking, etc.  Just things that make cells abnormal and time for them to cluster.

  3. Well, I have to start by saying that I am not a Doctor so I cannot give a definitive answer.  But don't believe all the, or really any of the cancer hype you read.  Bras do not cause cancer, neither do cell phones or most any of the other popular cancer causing boogeymen you read about these days.  Be skeptical, be very skeptical.
