seriously, the british army in no way compares to the US army. The british SAS were arguably the most elite in like WWII (more than 60 yrs ago btw) but not today. The SBS is also sub-par compared with the American Navy Seals. Look, I am not saying the british arent tough. All I am saying is that compared to the US (the worlds only superpower), we have the better special forces. It angers me when british people cite all of these "europeans" who think they have the better troops. Please. those are the same "europeans" that constantly complain about the epicness of the US.

PS- if we didnt have the best army, why are we the only country that can stand up to Russia when they were bullying georgia

  1. It's a good thing we have armchair commandos like yourself with no military experience to correct us real soldiers on military matters. Bravo, son. Bravo.

  2. Sorry to break it to you, but your talk about the SBS being sub-par to the navy seals is the biggest load of c**p I've heard for a while. The Navy Seals had a saying when they were BEING TRAINED BY THE SBS. "There's 2 ways, the easy way or the British way!". You talk like the British Special forces haven't done anything since WW2, but in reality, they have been involved in many conflicts such as:

    Both gulf wars

    Afghanistan

    Oman twice 1958-59 1970-76

    Falklands 1982

    Ireland 1969-92

    Gibraltar 1987-88

    Malaya 1950-59

    Borneo 1962-66

    South Arabia 1964-67

    Liberia 1990

    Ethiopia 1991

    Vietnam (Australian SAS)

There are more than that, but hopefully you get my point that they have a lot of experience, more so than the US.

Personally, if I had the choice of Delta force or the SAS coming after me, I wouldn't like my choices, but I'd choose Delta force (or SEALS).

  3. if the SAS are not the best why did the USA specifically ask for The Australian SAS for duty in Afghanistan

British SAS Australian SAS No difference both the Cream

  4. Seems like you have already answered your own question with the answer you like! Personally, I wouldn't  have much use for an outfit that DIDN'T think they were the best. I've served with troops from Great Britain and if push ever comes to shove, I'd be glad to have them on my side.

  5. This international pi$$ing contest is a waste of time..... At one time or another I have served or trained with almost every elite unit in the world......including two that do not exist anymore ( Iranian Special Forces under General Kostradad ; South Vietnamese Rangers)..... The SAS are outstanding hard professionals..... ( I would say man for man they are better than my own Green Berets..... BUT NOT AS GOOD AS DELTA..... not partisan, just being honest)

Every elite unit around the world ( Speznaz, GRU, Massad, etc) deserves respect.... and on any given day each might take special honors..... BUT who is the "best"..... does not really matter..... when the $hit hits the fan; the best is the one that saves your a$$

  6. at the end of the day we are allies and none of the bs matters.. and just remember one thing son we lost how many troops in iraq now to insurgents very little trained insurgents. its not like that is a real military we are fighting. not that any other military would do better we by far out power others but dont push buttons that you might not be able to handle for example Russia ... OBAMA 08!!!

  7. World's most powerful nations (ranked according to GDP, military power, diplomacy, capital strength, technological power, natural resources, human resources, government coordination and control capability, information and communication)

    1) United States - 90.69

    2) Britain - 65.04

    3) Russia - 63.03

    4) France - 62

    5) Germany - 61.93

    6) China - 59.10

    7) Japan - 57.84

    8 ) Canada - 57.09

    9) South Korea - 53,2

    10) India - 50.43

Korea has been ranked the ninth most powerful nation by the Chinese government's top think tank, the Academy of Social Sciences.

The U.S. was predictably in the top spot. China came sixth, one level above Japan. The CASS released a report on Thursday which ranked countries in nine areas -- GDP, military power, diplomacy, capital strength, technological power, natural resources, human resources, government coordination and control capability, information and communication -- with the average in each field determining a country's overall rank.

Among the top 10, the U.S. came first by a long chalk with a composite national power index of 90.69, followed by the U.K. with 65.04, Russia with 63.03, France with 62, Germany with 61.93, China with 59.10, Japan with 57.84, Canada with 57.09, Korea with 53.2 and India with 50.43.

Korea ranked third in information and communication with a score of 80.88, following the U.S. and Japan, and in technological power, Korea was ahead of Canada, Russia, China and India. But in terms of natural resources, capital strength and diplomacy, Korea did no better than ninth and 10th.

This was from a chinese think tank and shows the exact same results from a UN think tank.

And we're standing up to Russia because Russia won't start a war because they know the west has more power. If Russia does start a war the entire western world will crush them with twice as many nuclear warheads, than both Russia and China put together. All NATO nations (most of western Europe) ill invade Russia and economic sanctions will crush Russia's weak economy.

China would be obliged to enter the war under the SCO (shanghai cooperation organization) Russia's alternative to NATO, but china would join reluctantly. Both their economies would be crushed.

Also don't forget Britain's allies make us stronger, like the US, Autralia,

New zealand, Norway, France, Holland and many more, many still have the queen as head of state.Britain remains one of of the most influential  super powers in the world.

  8. We have the best modern army in the world. Though I wouldn't agree that we stood up to Russia... we didn't really do anything... :(
