Question:

Do bugs come inside during hot weather?

We have never had a problem with bugs in our rental house but now that summer is here we have a variety of bugs finding their way inside and at least one rat in our garage. We are not slobs and do not leave food out and keep our house very clean. We want to bring this to our landlords attention but we want to know if they are responsible for taking care of this.

  1. I don't think the heat has much to do with it. I think bugs are generally more active in the summer time. They are looking for food which is why they come into the house.

  2. You will have to check with the book of tenants rights. A house will never be 100% bug free and I'm skeptical that most people haven't had a rat or two in their garage. You just don't want it to turn into an all out infestation or have the rat gnaw wiring.

  3. yeah kinda...our landlord have an extermonaitor come every month for this problem and we havent had any since so call your landlord

  4. Where do you live?  That makes a big difference.  In FL we have bugs year round because of the awful humidity.  I spray around the windows every 3 months and I don't have bugs in the house.  You are responsible for your rental unless otherwise stated in your lease agreement.
