to promote there company as much now, as opposed to say. 10 years ago?

If so, do you find it cost effective.

I am planning to advertise my company in the plumbing section of central london, it is extremely expensive in the larger format, so i was hoping for some feed back, particularly from plumbing companies, or other small bussinesses, also how would you say it fares up against internet advertising.

Thanks in advance

  3. Hi

Yes. Its deffinitely worth it because of your type of business. But there are some other ways such as google map etc that will help your business more. Make sure to put your address in the footer of your web site and also get links from the web sites or local directories that let you to put your address in their web site as it will help your position in Google map ranking.

Also google adwords(pay per click) is really good for local businesses as you can target the people in your area and you will pay only once people click on your ad.

    Good Luck

  4. I am sure they do. Trouble is there are 1001 plumbers, aren't there? They also have Yell which is web based. The trend now is Local Directories (Internet) Something like ITV local. This is searchable by trade and area so is more useful than a National search.

  5. Yellow pages is an important adverising opportunity. Has wide circulation and as well as paper uses web also. It is a medium term solution as you have to go by print and issue dates. Its important to have an appealing design rather than size. Shorter term solutions are still newspaper, leaflets and posters, getting recommendations from customers.
