Do butcher birds eat mince meat?

They certainly will, but don't feed them so much that they depend on your hand-outs.  A little 'treat' every now and again will do them no harm.  Also remember, that if your neighbours have an aviary, it might not be a good idea to encourage butcher birds; because they can terrorise avairy birds.  Butcher birds have one of the most melodious of all bird songs, so it's a pleasure to have them around.

  3. Butcher Birds do eat meat but possess not very efficient saliva glands. Minced meat can get caught in their beak where it rotts causing their beak to decay.

    I recommend that if you want to feed these birds buy some meal worm, cockroaches or crickets from a pet shop. They will love this more as live food stimulates their natural hunting response.
