    above is a similar question

i would recommend you dont use it

  2. I read in the newspaper recently about a boy who almost died after his mom made pancakes with expired pancake mix (he was okay). Turns out, Pancake mix, cake mix, muffin mix, etc can grow a lethal mold in certain conditions if it's expired.

That story freaked me out and now I never make a cake mix even if it's only a week passed the date! I would say just throw it out, to be safe.

  3. It could be stale or have little bugs in it.  If you don't mind wasting the other ingredients you could go ahead and make it.  Then decide if it's good or not.

  4. I have stuff like that. Where you don't know how long its been in the house.

    They go bad.

I would make it though. Just pour it out in a bowl and look at it. If it looks and smells all right I say go for it. I mean your aunt couldn't have had it THAT long.

  5. yes it can go bad little worms actually grow in the flour...

  6. What Joyeux said, there was a Dear Abby column some time ago addressing this.  A young man died after eating an expired mix that had grown mold.  So don't risk it.

  7. I would think that since it had no best by date on it, and those have been required now for several years, chances are that it is very, very old.

    I would not use it.
