  1. Yes. Drink your milk !

  2. yes but at a slow rate.

that's why when people get old, they have weak bones.

  3. machines get torn out slowly....likewise our body does....so

  4. Calcium in bones can, over time, leach out of the bones and cause osteoporosis, or increased risk of fracture.

Causes can be lack of exercise and sedentary lifestyle, obesity, and too much protein in the diet.

Don't go grabbing for your milk.  Although milk is calcium rich, there is so much protein that it blocks the absorption of calcium into the body and it's just flushed out through the urine. In fact, the top four dairy consuming countries (USA, Canada, UK, and Finland) all have the highest incidences of osteoporosis.  It looks like eating too much dairy can actually trigger the brittle bone disease.

To maintain bone density, do impact exercises and weight training, and eat lots of vegetables and beans for a good calcium diet.

  5. Yes, it is normal to lose calcium and gain calcium in your bones. When you are young and growing you gain more, in middle years and older age you typically lose more. On average a healthy human, young or old, will replace 20% of the calcium in their bones on yearly basis. Older people can lose up to 1 % a year and at age 80 some people have 70% less calcium in their bones.

Why do we lose calcium in our bones? Because there is a slight amount in your blood and it is used in places for nerve signals and muscle contractions, like your heart for instance. When this supply is low, the body will take calcium from your bones. You lose calcium daily as waste, in urine, sweat and f***s. Your body has to replace the lost calcium in your blood stream by using the bones. Everyone loses some calcium this way. Before age 35, you consume more calcium than you lose, and around age 45 this often changes and we need more calcium in our diet to keep the calcium stored in our bones.

  6. Most people know tht calcium is important for bones and teeth but it is also used in many biological process in the body.

Calcium is used in blood clotting, muscle contraction, nerve transmission, production of enzymes and hormones, etc.

When there is not enough calcium ingested to maintain these processes, the body takes the calcium stored in the bones and teeth (thereby depleting those stores).   If left unchecked, this can result in osteoporosis.

So like someone above posted:  drink your milk.
