Do calories in olive oil make me fat?

hello,

I always count my daily calories, i am trying to eat more and get fatter. I eat everything, but i also like olive oil a lot, i put in my salad like 5 tbsp olive oil each day. Should i count this calories in my calorie intake (it is about 600 kcal) or not ? do you think it helps me getting fatter?

  1. This is an interesting question because there are many answers. If you cook the oil above 180 degrees results are different. Additionally, olive oil is considered by many nowadays to be a fat burner as your body uses more energy to consume the food than you gain from it's nutritional content. The volume you are using does seem rather high.

  5. Olive oil is a great source of fat. This type of fat actually burns more fat in a calorie deficit diet. There is the disappointing part.. "calorie deficit". You definitely have to count the calories in the oil and factor them in your total cout. 600 calories added to one meal (especially a salad) is WAYYY to much. Now if all you are eating is one salad per day (which would be foolish) then you may still be well under your daily limit.
