Do canadians eat moose?

my friend and i were listening 2 the canadian 12 days of christmas and wondered, DO CANADIANS EAT MOOSE? like we eat deer, so why no moose, right? yeah, so please answer.. THANK YOU

I am a former chef from Canada and if you are lucky enough to know someone who has "bagged" one, it is not bad, I helped breakdown a half of an 800 lb one, sometime ago, and got a bag of moose burger for my trouble.

It is not something you find in the grocery stores, and as it is wild meat, restaurants are not allowed to sell it, they can serve it as a free sample, or mix in things like stews, but it is not government inspected like the beef, even deer/venison is hard to find on menus and not available in grocery store either, maybe up in the Northwest Territories or Nunavut.

yeah what you thinking. We hunt them we eat them no waste here in Canada like some other places who come to Canada just for the trophy. That''s a sin and should be stopped.  What you kill should be eaten .  We eat bear, elk, deer, moose. The best I would say is Elk.  yum,.  I also have a beauty elk skin jacket we had made. 40 years oild already and still no wear shows on it.  

No hunting if not consumed.  NO waste.

If you are thinking that all Canadians eat moose as part of their daily diet, then this is just a stereotype.

There are moose up here and some may choose to eat it, but I personally don't eat moose and don't know anyone who does.

Also, in all my time eating in restaurants, I have never seen moose offered on the menu.

Yes we do.

Moose is especially good if it's slow cooked with a lot of onions, garlic and tomatoes.

I also like sausage made with 50% Moose and 50% pork and lots of garlic and pepper in it.
