  1. only some companies like safeco

  2. Oh yeah.  They found a correlation between bad credit and and higher insurance claims,  They will use that to give you a higher premium.

  3. Almost all of them will.  They do what is known as a marketing hit though, so it won't affect your credit score, it's only used in rating you to determine your premium amount.  Here is an in depth article on the subject of credit and auto insurance: http://www.knowyouragent.net/WhatDoesMyC...

  4. They don't "check" your credit, see your credit report or affect your credit score at all. They do get a "score" from either various sources and use that as 1 of the factors in determining your car insurance rates.

Go ahead and shop for car insurance - it will not hurt you.

  5. I wish my experience is helpful for you. Here is the good resource.http://car-insurance.online-tips.info/ca...

  6. In all states except California, credit scoring is used in rate determination.  It won't affect your score, it's a "soft hit".  If you want a quote with no credit scoring, Leader Infinity will do that for you, but you get the absolutely highest rates - as if you have the worst credit.

  7. Yes, they do. And they are known to rate people and even deny insurance for bad credit.

  8. Unless you live in California, yes, an insurance credit check WILL happen, unless you're under 21 (in which case you basically get the worst rates anyway).

    I've had good results here...

    Good Luck.

  9. They won't touch it, but they will check it.  It gives them one more excuse to jack up your rates.
