  1. Radar detectors detect the signals emitted by radar detectors. Therefore, radar detectors do not detect police officers without a radar gun turned on. See my first source for more on how radar works.

Radar detectors are LEGAL in New Jersey. It is illegal to use a radar detector in the states of Virginia and Washington, D.C., as well as on any military base or any commercial vehicle over 10,000 pounds.

Police are using laser (LIDAR) more often. While most radar detectors detect laser, you only have .2 seconds (2 tenths of a second) from when the laser alert goes off and when they have your speed recorded. If you are concerned about police laser, you'll need a laser jammer. A laser jammer JAMs the police laser reading, allowing you time to check your speed. Like radar detectors, laser jammers are also LEGAL in most states.

  2. It isn't a car radar, it is a radar DETECTOR. It detects police radar not police cars.

  3. Radar detectors are not psychics, They need the radar gun to see the police, They are only illegal in Virginia.

  4. It's a RADAR detector, not a POLICE detector.

    Think about it for awhile.
