  1. Many states have either a vehicle inspection or a an emission testing or both that are are done and if a car cannot pass these tests then it will be rejected and the car cannot be on the road..........................

  2. While there are safety inspections and emissions tests, these do not always tell the whole story.  Safety inspections merely make sure that visibility is not impeded, all lights work properly as well as the windshield wipers.  As long as all items are present and work properly there is no problem.  Tires are inspected for tread depth but thats about it.  Emissions tests check the quality of engines and monitor the exhaust output.  As long as the emissions fall inside a set schedule, all is well there.  So, that means that anything else that you might deem as "un-roadworthy" may not be challenged unless it violates the standards of the tests above.

  3. Yes, it is correct...that there are laws that prevent you from watching TV or listening to music very load while driving ...as may some of these car can do..

However, You can have anything on your car, as long as you do not break the law...by watching T.V or Loud music while driving....in other words DON'T GET CAUGHT

  4. Tested of emissions is required.  In some states, testing of headlights, seatbelts, brakes, and certain other safety systems is required.

In "pimp my ride", they mainly modify the body panels, interior, and audio.  This are not tested.  They do not modify the engine, brakes, etc.

  5. Most states require a safety inspection certificate each year.

Part of the inspection requires that emissions pass the required standard.

A sticker is placed on the windshield.

A very few states discontinued this.  I'm aware of two, Arkansas and Florida.

  6. Preceding four answers are essentially correct, but many states have eliminated this because mechanics were ripping off customers to get the sticker by unnecessary repairs.  California, the most populous state no longer requires it.  What does "pimp my ride" mean?
