  1. You can still count cards, there is not one continuous shuffle machine in all of atlantic city, they do employ automatic shufflers (auto shufflers do not effect the card coutning process) which are even sold by the same company that makes the continuous shuffler (shufflemasters's one2six) which is very indicative of casinos not showing an interest in using continuous shuffle machines.

They do this because for every card counter that is good enough to make money,. there is likely 20 others who havnt the slightest idea what they are doing and increase their bets in vein causing them to lose more money than the typical gambler.  Casinos make a lot of money allowing bad card counters to play, and if they used continuous shufflers, its likely that none of them would.

So all in all the casinos bite the bullet and make their games somewhere between a card counters dream and a game that is hardly worth playing to still lure in card counters while minimising their losses to them.

  2. Single deck is the only one i know that shuffles by hand but every Casino is different...i've heard of some that shuffle 6 decks just gotta shop around.

  3. Nowadays casinos are very on to the card counting going on.  Obviously more so now w/the 21 movie out.

What I mean is now that many players are aware of how possible it is, casinos are taking less risk and getting card shufflers.

I was in a casino yesterday in Wheeling, WV and they had card shufflers at almost every blackjack table, the only ones that didn't were the single deck blackjack.

So my thought is that within a matter of time all will have shufflers

  4. Yes, every game in the pit is still a shuffled game.  It is how you randomize the cards.  Most casinos do not hand shuffle (single deck BJ being a notable exception) anymore, but rather use casino grade card shufflers (see www.shufflemaster.com).

If a BJ table is dealing from a shoe, it can be counted.  If a BJ table is dealing from a continuous shuffler, the game can not be counted.  (Read about the one2six shuffler.)
