  1. Yes they do get jealous and give you the cold shoulder for a little while, wash the other cats scent off of your hands and your cat will soon forgive you. My cats get jealous if I stroke one or the other and they are sisters!

  2. Oh they absolutely can get jealous.

With stray cats, though, it has more to do with "territory". They view their humans as their "territory". Have you ever seen your cat rolling around on your shoes or rubbing her face against them? She's "remarking" her territory. So when you (her territory) touched another cat, you smelled of that cat, her territory was messing with another cat - so she might have been a little upset. I know that probably makes no sense, but I heard an animal expert talking about just this topic not too long ago.

But don't feel bad, my cat gives me dirty looks all the time if she catches me petting any other animal, not just other cats. She's bad about rolling and rubbing on my shoes after I've been to my friends house who have other cats. She rubs against my dad's lunch cooler when he comes home and sets it next to the microwave in the floor, just remarking her territory.

  3. All animals are different.

Your cat might just be upset.

Show her some love, and maybe dont pat any more cats infront of her?

  4. yes, she's jealous! my kitten did so too!

    i'm sorry for my english,if i made mistakes,but i don't speak very well!

  5. Animals tend to get attached to those who show them love, especially if it is one specific person. Just like a child, if you focus your attention to something or somebody else even if it is just momentarily, they will crave for your attention.

However, I have not heard of an instance where an animal rejects somebody for simply that reason but she could be doing it to teach you a lesson. There is much humans still do not understand about animals.

  6. I had a persian that would actually make a huffing sound as she turned away to show her attitude. She screened the calls on my answering machine and would jump up into my arms when I pat my chest.   She also was my only cat that would give kisses when asked.  She was also my alarm clock...They are like people in fuzzy suits. They all have their own personalities just like people.

  7. Its because cat show respect toward people who show love to them.

When you patted the other cat proably your cat got annoyed with that and thought that your are not giving more love to her.

My cat too used to go away angrily and i had to convince her so much.

From then i stop pating all cats as my cat used to get angry when i did this.

She is teaching you the lesson so be careful!!!!!!!!

Also try to call her or go near her and try to play with her .

If she is still not listening then be careful

And don't pat the other cats or elase your cat wouldn't look at you.

    Hope it helps!

  8. most definitely. In fact get a little cat doll and love on it in front of your cat, do it often and soon the cat will attack the doll.

  9. Hmm that's a really good question actually.

Yesterday my husband happened to pick another cat and when he came home my kitty sniffed it that he was close to another cat and that she just didn't come any close to him, he just gave him this look when he picked her up and went away.

He actually had to get a shower and then she came and sat on his lap. You i thought it was a jealouslyy. May be to some extent.

  10. mine do my one cat is mad that i took in a stray that its owner passed away. she sleeps with my mom and will hiss at her.
