My husband and I are going to be on an Air Force base soon because I joined the Air Force. I leave Nov. 4th and then I have tech school. I was just wondering that when we are allowed to live together after I am done in tech school will our two cats have to be declawed? I know different bases have different rules but from your experience what has the majority been?

  1. no your cat doesn't have to be declawed.

  2. No, you won't have to have the kitties declawed.

  3. Usually base or housing rules require proper vaccination and registration of the pets (usually with the Base clinic if they have one).  For cats it's much more likely that they'll either have to be mircrochipped or have to be indoor only cats if they do have any other rules.

  4. It's been my experiance that most onbase housing is very strict with reguard to pets and rules vary by location. It maybe worth it to you to accept a housing allowance and live offbase.
