Do cell phone work of Carnival ships?

I have Alltel and we are going on Sensation to Bahamas??? Will we be able to use cell phone and is the charge outrageous!!!

If you call up Alltel and tell them you're going to another country, they can set up your plan so you get better reception.  But in the middle of the ocean, it's hard to get signal.  You can still try to make calls but it's extremely expensive... and for texting you can't text until you're near land.  You're better off waiting till you port somewhere.

The ships now have cell towers and yes it will be expensive.  As far as ports go, it depends on your carrier and your plan.

well, when i went to alaska, sometimes it worked sometimes it dosen't. but, i do not recomemnd brining a cell phone. If you turn it on for a day, the next day, it will be ompletly out of battery. Because it is constantly trying to search for service. The chargewill be expensive,becuase it will be a long distance call,. But, some people did bring one on, just for emergencies.

Yes, only if you are near an island with satelites. If you are in the opensea then it most likely will have no signal.

The Carnival Sensation is equipped with Cellular At Sea service, and you will get cell phone reception everywhere.  It is expensive, however.
