Do cheerleader shoes make a difference?

i dont own cheerleader shoes but i have basic running shoes. does it make much of a difference which ones i wear at practice?

my cheer coach would kill me if i didnt have the right shoes. Ask someone from, ur squad were she got her shoes

it doesnt really make a difference but i recommend shoes with ankle support if you are going to be tumbling other wise your ankles will hurt if there not strong enough to tumble without the support

Please DONT listen to most of the other answers! I am a cheerleader and you must have cheer shoes.

Cheer shoes are alot lighter and more comfortable than running shoes.

I think the nfinities genesis are the best shoes.

well it really doesn't matter if you're a base. but if you're a flyer, haveing cheerleading shoes will really help because the soles are smoother so the grips don't dig into your bases hands. they will really thank you...you're coach will prolly want everyone to have plain white shoes though for games...that's usually the thing...that's why most cheer shoes are white. nike & adidas have really nice shoes. kaepas are good too.

Cheer shoes verses running shoes wont make a huge difference but you will notice some difference. Wtih cheerleaders there are two things to watch out for. Shin splints, and rolling your ankles. A good pair of running shoes should help with the shin splints but as for rolling your ankles that depends on the type of shoe you have. Im sure your coach will want you all to have matching shoes at games and compitions so get them as soon as you can, but until then don't sweat it. You should be fine.

I think they do the two girls i fly i find the one that has cheer shoes easir because they are light and they have bassically nothing on the bottom wich really helps i find ithelps my jumps as well.

The flyers are the same standard! They also gave the flyer that has them a confident boost when she is flyer and she has improved alot!
