Do cherries have to be refrigerated?

I just need to know because if they don't i can keep them in my room. I have a roommate who is always eating up everything that I buy. I have the right mind to melt some ex-lax and dip them in them and tell her I bought some chocolate covered cherries. But anyway, do they have to be put in the fridge.

They last longer in the fridge. They are shipped over here in refrigerated containers, go to refrigerated warehouses, then into supermarket chillers, then onto the chilled section of the shelving. They should be kept in the fridge!
