  1. what the other guy said is mostly true. There was one that lasted for 3 weeks with no head, and they had to feed it through a tube. Check out Ripley's Believe it or not.

  2. A few minutes.. Until they run out of blood and their nerves stop working..

I've seen chickens being killed, and then cooked for dinner..

  3. lmao, yes they do...there nerves are still working and it only lasts a minute or so.

    hahah...city folks

  4. Ya, 'cuz their neves are still working.

  5. They don't run (that would require input from the brain), but they will flop around a lot for the first 30 seconds or so and keep giving kicks for about a minute. It's just from random nerve signals to the muscles.

  6. That be funnier if you saw a guy in the 1600's get his head cut off and he starts running around the place!

  7. True, and not just for a few minutes. A chicken can stagger around without its noggin because the brain stem, often left partially intact after a beheading, controls most of its reflexes. One robust fellow lived a full eighteen months. Likely he was a real birdbrain, however a chicken can live for only 2 minutes
