Question:

Do chickens have tonsils?

My nephew asked me is chicken's have tonsils. I have searched and searched and cannot find the answer for him.I have no idea how he came to wonder about this Please help does anyone know where to find this info.I even asked a vet and he didn't know either

Indeed they do!  But not in the back of their throats.  Their tonsil is at the bottom of their esophagus, right where it joins to the first part of the stomach, the proventriculus (still a little farther along is the ventriculus, known to you and me as the gizzard.)  They also have a pyloric tonsil, found along the duodenum (first part of small intestine.)  That's probably 'way more than your nephew wanted to know.
