  1. In most places yes you do have to be immunized to start school or preschool (depending on the age scale the country/state uses) unless you have a valid reason not to.

I didn't have to get mine when I was in grade 6 as I had a medical reason.

As somebody else said you can refuse and it is your right but I'm not sure what the requirements are for refusing if it's not a medical or religious reason.

  2. Vaccinations:These are the ones that your child should have before entering school.

    Hepatitis B

    DTaP (diphtheria, tetanus, acellular pertussis)

    Hib (meningitis)

    IPV (polio)

    Influenza

    MMR (measles, mumps, rubella)

    Varicella (chickenpox)

    MCV4 (bacterial meningitis)

    Hepatitis A

  3. Yes.  You need to submit an immunization record with your kindergarten registration (at least that's how it works at my school).

  4. Yes they do..in our state the only exception is if it's against your religion, or if you have a doctor's note that says you can't have the vaccine...some allergies or family history might make it more dangerous for you to have the vaccine than not.

  5. Yes make sure you update all your kidds shot till they get to high school because they will get sent home and cant return to school without shot records. take it from me my mom had to go through all this with me for years

  6. check with your doctor -he will know what your child needs to get updated.

  7. NO, they do not.... and how I know is, my daughter is in the 3rd grade (public school) and has none.... and what did they say to me when I registered her there...(and the school before this one) NOTHING!

It is your right to not have your child immunized... you only need to sign a GOVERNMENT waver stating that if there was an outbreak of something you would remove your child right away .... and yes I would... along with everyone else! Please do some actual reading people!!! You don't need immunizations unless you choose to have them !!! AND  p.s. they didn't even ask why!!!

As of 2004 all 50 states allow vaccination exemptions for medical reasons; 48 states allow exemptions for religious reasons; and 20 states allow exemptions for philosophical reasons. There is no legal penalty for parents or guardians who obtain exemptions for these reasons. These were copied from the sites I posted below!!! FROM the CDC site itself !!!

  8. Shots required for pre-k, kdg, 5th, and 9th grade..

  9. Most states (48) allow for religious exemption (W. Virginia and Mississippi do not).  15 allow for philosophical exemption.  It is important to know the laws in your area.

Also, it is important to note that your child may have to be out of school for a long time if an outbreak happens, unlike children that get the vaccinations.
