  1. Yes I think they still do in the lower grades. But when the grade gets higher, gifts are less common for teachers (due to insults about 'teacher's pet' xP)

  2. Yes students still give gifts to their teachers.  A lot depends on who their parents are though.  I have my son give his teachers gifts at Christmas and the end of the year.  I also worked as a full time teacher in a low income school and I did get gifts but only from a few of the students because most of them didn't have money.  It was never expected.  My husband teaches full time and he gets a ton of stuff at Christmas and the end of the year (he teaches jr. high and high school music so he has a lot of students.)  His favorite gift was a tee shirt that a couple students designed with puff paint that had meaning to him (i.e. a briefcase since he carries one daily, a saying that he uses a lot, a picture of an instrument, etc.)

  3. Only at holiday time and at the end of the year.  It's usually the parents that choose the gift though.

  4. Yes, my kids give gifts to their teachers and other people who assist in their care.  Like the bus driver, office ladies, daycare workers. etc.  I have holiday cards made with their picture and pass them out with a treat of some sort.

  5. Our family does with our kids' teachers.  Usually for special occasions and, especially my daughter, a *just because* gift.

  6. yes ma'am

  7. Yes, I am a teacher and my students give me gifts on special occasions. I really appreciate it because it shows me they care. Gifts aren't necessary though, a nice card is wonderful!
