I havn't flown in a while and am not sure if my 12 year old sister will need a US photo ID to board her flight. It is an emergency trip here, she will be flying alone. Will I need anything special to pick her up beside's my driver's licence? The airline I would like to use it not being helpful one bit.... Any info would be great!

  1. well if she has a school ID that will be just fine all they want to know is if ticket actually belongs to the person boarding the airplane. but if you are flying out of the country you need a passport :)

  2. No. She won't need a ID.

  3. They have to have their birth certificate, I just went through this!

  4. ****I'm fifteen and have been through this six times every year for the past five years, I never needed an ID, just the person escorting me to the gate needed an ID to make sure that the ticket belonged to me and that the person was the real person who was with me. Every once in awhile they ask me if I have an ID, and I teel them I'm fifteen and they go, "Ok nevermind". THe kid doesn't need one, just the person with them or the person who bought the ticket.

*****If you have a driver's licsense, than bring that, or even a school ID.******

No they don't need an ID, but the parents, or any person transporting the child, does need an ID. Their name also needs to be on the ticket if you are bringing them directly to the gate.

But no, the child does not need an ID...of course if he/she has a military ID than you might as well bring it with them, but they don't have to.

    God Bless!! :)

  5. Not really, if she has a school ID thats fine.

Um, I brought my birth certificate (im 17) but they did not even look. They say they need one, but yeah, save side school id and a  birth certificate.
