Do chinchillas bite?if they do plz tell me if they bite hard like tigers or soft like rabbits?

  1. wrong place for this question but, i can help. not hard at all, if they even do. we have them at work but, i never can catch them. also, rabbit bites are far from soft. a conure bit is weak... i think. but repost this in rodents section. you'll get a better answer from other people.


  2. They bite less like a tiger and more like a platypus if you know what I mean. The kind of platypus that live in the wild though, not those poser zoo ones.

  4. yeah chinchillas can bite pretty hard, plus they are near impossible to catch. Its probably a better idea to start out with a rabbit, they are easier to care for and a lot more sturdy. Chinchillas need lots of room and they can be injured very easily, infact its a better idea not to handle them that much, plus they need lots of special care like diet and dust baths. From my experience two of them together do much much better than one on his own. Two will set you back about 300 dollars so they are not cheap either.
