Question:

Do chocolates really help you in studying?

they say that when you eat chocolate, it could help you in studying. others say because it helps you to be awake. im looking for scientific explanation. any comments and explanation are welcome.

    Edit:  To me, the only thing that really helps me stay awake is espresso.

  3. i heard from a professor of psychology that eating a piece of dark chocolate a couple of hours before a test helps you....... i dont really remember why. But maybe its because it keeps you alert. Also choclate is an excellent antioxidant.  

  4. trace amounts of caffeine.  other than that, sounds like bunk.

  5. I would say that it could help to keep you awake and energized because of the caffeine found in cocoa. (It also helps when I'm sad).

Chocolate contains sugar and caffeine which gives you energy which could help you stay up during an all nighter I suppose.  The only specific heath benefit of chocolate (and this only applies to dark chocolate) is it contains an antioxidant that can lower blood pressure.  So no, there's nothing unique to chocolate that'll help you study.  

  7. well because of all of the natural/unnatural caffeine in chocolate it helps you to stay awake. It won't necesarily help you to focus though. But there is also the controversy that the smell/ taste of chocolate is so strong that it helps you remember stuff that you wouldnt be able to, or would have difficultly, remembering.   8. NO it doesnt help u go to sleep! ive heard that rumor and its NOT true! its true that it helps u stay awake becuz of all the sugar but it doesnt help u in studying!!!

  9. I heard that chocolate helps you to get better marks in your tests, quizzes, etc. I don't know if its true, but I believe it. I always eat a piece of chocolate before a test... lame "I know"...lol!

  10. as far as i know NO would be the answer.. if you eat chocolate while you are studying all that might do is help you get energy lol.. like a energy drink.. just with less power lol.  so if you want to sleep after studying i would think you not to eat or drink anything with a lot of sugar... en less it was a couple of hours before..
