I just saw a commercial about Lysol. I also know that Purell claims to kill 99.99% of germs and bacteria. How do they come up with this number? What is the last .1% or .01%? Thank you.

  1. Probably so nobody can claim compensation from them or sue them for false advertising if someone got sick from the .01 after they cleaned with it. with your large brain i thought youd work it out.

  2. Yes over "Common household germs" so not all the germs in the world but over the common germs in your house yes 99.9% are killed.

  3. 99.9% is to cover them if they get sued, that other .1 % would have millions upon millions of germs,

  4. yes

  5. They do kill almost all bacteria.. its tested that way and there is prob like a tiny bit of bacteria left over that is why they cant say its 100%
