I have a cockatiel I believe is a male and a friend of mine

wants to give me a blue face amazon parrot

I know the cockatiel is in the parrot family

but I need to know if they will be able to get along together

ps

the reason they are giving the parrot away is the the lady that owns it now is very sick and she wants to know her baby will be taken care of

  1. NO  keep them in separate cages.I even keep some of my Cockatiels  in different cages because they don't get along with each other.

  2. I don't know about most birds but they will surrely kill a finch

  3. I would be very careful and not let them touch each other. Cockatiels are more passive and outgoing. Amazons, however, can be unpredictable. Especially one that's not yours! I would not let them interact, but I would let them see one another. Even the smallest "go away" nip can cause great damage to a cockatiel.

May I say, "Welcome to the bird world"! Start researching all you can and love them to death, even if they don't like you. Here are a few podcasts you can listen in on, Wings N' Things is a good one for beginners.
