  1. Send them a letter via Certified Mail + Return Receipt  to this collection agency stating:

Per the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, I am requesting:

    - written validation of this alleged debt

    - complete summary of phone changes made on this account

  2. u need to investigate this, remember as they tell u the computer says u did x, y and z that information was entered by a person and people make mistakes. u find that bill and get copies of who signed what, when and where u get that off your report if they made the error.

  3. You need to send them a validation letter.  They have to prove that this is your account.

  4. Sounds  like  ID   fraud ,  Verizon  is  more  preventative  about  it  but

Some  of  the Other  cell  phone  companies  give  cell  phones  to  anyone  who  can  give  them  a  SSN  &  a  few  bucks .

( I  think  the  salesman  rack  up  commissions  that  way )

Get   the  info  and  contest  it  if  it  was  NOT  you .

Get  the  billing  address  for  the   account  that  was  put  in your  name   and  you  will  probably  find  you  never  even  lived  in  that  town  !

Then  take  the  info  to  your  local  police  with  your  real  address  ( like  on  your  drivers  license )  and  file  a  fraud  report ,   then  send  it  to  ALL  the  big 3   credit  agencies  and  the  collection  agency .

    Good  Luck
