Do college laboratory classes really last 4 hours?

Some last longer, some less (meaning you go into the lab to finish your assignment--4 hours is not enough).  The more advanced the classes, the relative longer the labs last, as well as what class it is (the labs in quant analysis were more than 4 hours as was anatomy).  It does depend on how fast you work & your retention as well as what is assigned to accomplish.

They can go up to that long, but don't always.

I would be prepared to stay that long, however, just in case- they include practicums for what you learn in class, as well as times to ask questions, and do smaller group work.

Seems like a drag, but they can be useful!

They usually don't last the whole time, maybe one and a half to two hours or so. It really just depends on your professor.
