  1. Yes, they now accept homeschoolers more than people that go to public school, because you get a better education when you're homeschooled.

  2. Of course they do! I'm attending a private college right now and I graduated from a homeschool program.

  3. Most colleges want to see the homeschool portfolio.  Also, many homeschoolers use internet resources and have certain credentials from those programs, which can be listed on the college application.

  4. BYU, Utah State

  5. Here is a listing of over 1000 colleges and universities that have accepted homeschoolers:

Almost every college has accepted students who were homeschooled. You'll need to check individual colleges for their requirements, though. Many will accept a parent-made diploma, along with sufficient SAT scores, just as they would accept any other diploma. Other universities, like most University of California System, generally don't recognize diplomas from the unaccredited private home schools. Most young adults I know who were homeschooled and have graduated from or currently attend a UC school attended community college first (which does not require accredited diploma) and then transfered into SJSU or Berkeley, etc as Junior status, based on their CC coursework, not high school coursework..

  6. i was home-schooled and i am currently enrolled in University Of Phoenix on-line.

  7. Many colleges are not just accepting, but actually recruiting them.  Probably the best thing to do is to choose several colleges that interest you, and inquire directly from them about their requirements for home schoolers.

  8. I can't think of any colleges that refuse homeschoolers! They might require several SAT subject test and strong SAT or ACT scores along with the homegrown transcript but thanks to organizations like HSLDA, outright refusal to accept is no longer an issue.

  9. I know in my state (PA) as long as your homeschool diploma is from the home schooling organization (I forget the name of it) then yeah, a college will accept it.
