Simple question:

Let's say to take the SAT and get a low score around 1600/2400, but take it a second time a receive a 1900-2000/2400.

Will your first score have a huge impact on you getting admission into a college? Do colleges just look at the higher score or will they take the lower score into consideration as well? Thanks.

  1. they look at every time, but if you take it again and score better they will only truly consider your highest score. However if you take it once and absolutely bomb it they will ask what happened. a 1600 is not bad if you're aiming for a 1900-2000. also, colleges take your highest SECTIONS as well (this is called superscoring) superscoring works like this:

    (purely hypothetical)

    may: 500 math 600 cr 800 writing

    june: 700 math 500 cr 700 writing

they will take: 700 math 600 cr 800 writing.

so, that way, you wil have a 2100 and not whatever your last 2 combined scores were. good luck!

  2. they'll just look at your highest score. in fact, i think u choose which you send to them

  3. they'll look at your highest score
