Do colleges really care about students taking languages?

Do colleges really care about students taking a full 4 years of a language in high school...do they care about students sticking to the same language throughout HS. I am going to be a Junior (school didn't start yet), and already took 3 language credits in Latin. If I were to drop my language, would it affect my chances of getting into colleges?

Thank in advance,

Graham.

  1. I don't think it matters that much. Maybe if you stay in Latin and take AP then it might look better, but I took 2 years of Spanish and it was probably my worst class in all of high school, but I still got in to a really difficult university, so I don't think that they put much emphasis on the language. A lot of colleges will still make you take one again anyway, even though I had taken it in high school I still had to take another 4 semesters of a language just because of my major (which isn't a language or anything related to another culture). I don't think it will hurt you to switch though.
