Do colleges regard a 4 on the English Literature and Comp as excellent, good, or fair?

My dad told me that a 4 is average on that ap and it's what I got, so I just want to see what colleges would think of that?

Do colleges even consider ap scores or are they just so you don't have to take that class as a freshman?

  1. Colleges usually accept 4s and 5s for the English Language and Composition AP. A 4 would be good, and a 5 would be excellent. Either way, you're probably getting a credit, so don't worry about it.

  2. I'm pretty sure 3 is average?

The whole reason for the AP test is that if you get a good score, you get college credit. For example I'm going into College next year, and instead of taking English 101 like most other freshman, I am taking 102 because of the AP test. I also have English 105 covered (which takes care of 2 breadth requirements :D ).

Depending on the college you go to, a 4 should count for credit (that's what I got), however some higher end colleges only take a 5, and alot take 3's.

If your asking if colleges consider AP scores in accepting you? I would say that they probably consider the fact that you are in an AP class, and the grade you got for that class, and I'm pretty sure that the test is just for the credit.
