Do colleges see all the scores of your SAT you've ever taken?

I'm going to be a sophomore in high school, and I'm wondering if I take an SAT test now if the college will be able to see those scores also and if they would count against me? Is it the same way with ACT scores? Or do they only take your highest score or average of all your scores.

  1. When you send your score report for any SAT or SAT II subject test to a college, all collegeboard tests of any test (SAT or SAT II) are sent along with that score.  Some colleges say they only "look" at your highest scores, yet they still see the rest of your scores as well.  Sometimes colleges may say they will look at your highest scores from each section even if they were on different tests.  However, again, all of your scores appear as well.  With the ACT you get to choose which test date you want to send and ONLY that test date/score will be sent.  You can send multiple ACT test dates/scores if you want though.

  2. They would see it but they wouldnt care if you did bad the first time. Your last score is what they care about.

  3. Most colleges would take the best score in one sitting for either the ACT or SAT.  They do not average them.  For your information, you don't have to send them to your colleges right away.  You have a chance to sign up around 4 colleges during registration (free) where you want the scores sent.  I think you can wait until you know your scores, then send them but there might be a small fee.
